Rules of Youth Lacrosse
The rules of youth lacrosse are modified to protect younger players from serious injury and to allow them to focus on the development of individual skills. There is no physical contact (checking) allowed in the girls game and modified checking for some of the boys age groups. For the younger boys, checking is not allowed and will result in a penalty.
General conduct and zero tolerance:
Referees have authority over the conduct of the players, coaches and followers (spectators) during a game. In the event that spectators or coaches are involved in misconduct, a penalty may be assessed to the coach and may ultimately lead to suspension of the coach or fan and forfeiture of the game.
Misconduct is defined as any action, gesture or comment that interferes with the safety of the players and/or sportsmanship of the game. Any misconduct resulting in a penalty will be reported to the league by the official. Repeated incidents will be reviewed by the league and may result in the suspension or removal of the team from the league.
