EQUIPMENT
Women's Lacrosse equipment may be purchased at local sports stores: Brine Sports in Concord, Hit The Net Sports in Acton, and Lacrosse Unlimited in Burlington/Wellesley, or there are many online suppliers. Going to a store allows the player to try out/try on the stick/goggles. The costs will vary depending on the quality of the equipment and brand. PLEASE set your new player up for success by not sending her to practice with a relic from the garage or attic. A current women's stick will make a huge difference in her skills mastery.
The following equipment is required to participate in Concord-Carlisle Girls Youth Lacrosse:
Field Player
1) Regulation Women's lacrosse stick:
2) Lacrosse Goggles
3) Molded Mouthguard
• Must be visible color other than clear or white
Goalie
CCYL provides goalie equipment for each team. The equipment includes the following: helmet with face mask, separate throat protector, chest protector, abdominal and pelvic protection, goalie gloves, and leg padding on the shins and thighs.

Generally, molded sole "soccer" cleats are recommended for playing on grass, and turf shoes or sneakers are acceptable are recommended for playing on turf. In the Spring when the weather conditions are varied, molded "soccer" cleats keep feet dryer/warmer, whether on grass or turf.
No jewelry is allowed on the field – including earrings in newly pierced ears, watches + string bracelets. Officials will stop the game and require players to leave the field to remove jewelry.
Note on sticks:
• Beginners may want a shaft that is as long as the distance from the back of their shoulder to their fingertips, plus an extra 1–2 inches for growth. Typically a beginner stick has 28" inch shaft. If you have a taller/older player, starting with a regulation shaft will give her more time to grow with the stick. The more advanced the stick, the higher the price tag.
Sticks to Consider
• String King Starter Junior: 28" shaft
• String Kind Starter: Taller/older new player
• STX Exault: 28" shaft
• Gait Air 2: intermediate/advanced
• Gait Apex 2: intermediate/advanced
